Among the most important green areas of the city are the Foro Italico, a large lawn on the sea; the eighteenth-century Villa Giulia of neoclassical taste; the English Garden; the Zisa Garden in front of the Palazzo della Zisa, in what was once the ancient Genoard, the royal hunting park, crossed by a system of water tanks; the Orleans Park; the botanical garden; the Parco della Favorita; the Archaeological Park of Castellammare; Villa Sperlinga and Villa Trabia.
